What it is
Wall of Portfolios is a curated wall of designer portfolios, made by Praneeth Jonnala. Each entry is a profile card with the designer's role, country, years of experience, style tag and past employers, linking out to the live portfolio. The site says only about 30% of submissions are accepted and claims more than 45,000 designers as users. At review its style categories counted 820+ minimal, 390+ dark-themed, 300+ interactive, 180+ creative and 90+ modern-layout portfolios (tags overlap). Most featured designers are in India, often at companies such as Swiggy, Zomato, Flipkart, Microsoft or Google.
When to open it
Open it when you are building or reviewing a product designer's portfolio and want to see how working designers at a given level present case studies, or when you are hiring and want to browse by role and experience.
Most useful
- Filters: company, role (intern to creative director), years of experience, country and "open to work".
- Portfolio of the Month: five monthly picks with a short editor's note on why each works.
- Cases: a separate wall of case studies grouped by industry (SaaS, fintech, AI, quick commerce, mobility, travel, design systems).
- Studio: a feed where designers post work in progress and ask for feedback.
- Job Tracker: a free board for tracking your own applications.
Using it with agents
No API, MCP, llms.txt or export. Use it by hand: pick a few portfolios at your level, note how they structure a case study (problem, role, process, outcome) and how they handle layout and type, and give the agent that outline, not the designers' text or images.
Watch out for
- Strong regional and product-design skew; few brand, motion or studio portfolios.
- Profiles are self-submitted and then reviewed, so the "top designers" framing is the site's own claim.
- Much of the site (submitting, bookmarking, messaging) is behind a login.
Reusable ideas
- Tag each portfolio with role and years of experience so people compare with peers, not only with stars.
- Add a short editor's note to monthly picks that says why the portfolio works.
- Separate whole portfolios from single case studies; people look for them at different moments.
