Patterns worth reusing
- Organize a dense footer in columns (e.g. Product, Resources, Community) instead of one long link list.
- Manually flag a curated subset ("Editor's Choice") as a quality signal on top of raw submissions.
- A niche as narrow as "footers only" can sustain a full gallery if it's well filtered by style.
- Link every example directly to its source site so the gallery stays a gateway, not a copy.
- Study a footer next to the rest of the same site's sections, so its density and tone are judged against the page it closes (Sections.wtf).
Pitfalls
- It's a purely visual reference — no downloadable code or accessibility spec for the footers shown.
- Organic content is mixed with a sponsored section; distinguish the two before trusting a recommendation.
- No licence is typically stated for how the screenshots may be used.
