What it is
Mascofast is a web app by solo founder Dikshit Mahanot that turns a text description or a photo into a cartoon mascot, then produces variants, poses and short animations of it. It first creates a reference character and generates everything else from it, so the character stays consistent. There are nine styles: Pixar-like, 3D render, pixel art, anime, cartoon, chibi, doodle, kawaii and plushie. The terms say the images and video come from third-party AI models that Mascofast calls for you. According to the FAQ, still images arrive in seconds and a video takes about two to five minutes in the background. Stills download as PNG, and animations as a transparent GIF, transparent WebM or Lottie (.lottie or JSON). The site also has a free mascot gallery and five free browser tools, among them a transparent GIF background remover, an animated asset inspector and a GIF vs Lottie advisor.
When to open it
- When an app, game or SaaS onboarding needs a character for welcome screens, empty states or rewards, and you have no illustrator or animator.
- When you need a looping, transparent character animation you can drop into a web page or app.
Most useful
- Reference-first workflow: one approved mascot is reused as the base for every pose and animation.
- Transparent loop exports in GIF, WebM and Lottie, so you can pick the format your runtime supports.
- Credit maths is published: one credit per mascot, variant or pose, and ten for a video, so a full flow costs about 12 credits.
- Free tools that work without an account, useful even if you never buy credits.
Using it with agents
Mascofast publishes an llms.txt with its main pages, product facts and a note asking AI writers not to invent claims or testimonials. Every paid plan lists "MCP support", but no public MCP documentation or endpoint was found at review, so check your dashboard after subscribing. Otherwise, generate the files in the web app and commit them. For the web, a transparent WebM or Lottie file is lighter than a GIF.
Watch out for
- The homepage leads with a retention figure and a pitch that mascots drive growth, yet its own llms.txt warns against treating mascots as proof of retention gains. Treat the figure as marketing.
- The pricing card gives Starter 72 credits and 6 flows, while the FAQ says 84 credits and 7 flows.
- The governing-law clause in the terms still reads "[Your jurisdiction]", and the only support contact is the dashboard or X.
- The terms warn that output may resemble existing work. Check any mascot you plan to trademark.
Reusable ideas
- Generate one canonical reference asset, then derive every variant from it to keep a character consistent.
- Publish a small llms.txt with verified product facts and rules for how AI should describe the product.
- Offer free utility tools around the paid product (format advice, background removal) that bring in search traffic.
