What it is
Variant is a prompt-led interface generator presented as an endless stream of designs. Its homepage places a dark prompt composer beside a masonry-like field of embedded, interactive mini-prototypes. This makes the site itself a reference and a discovery surface: inspect the visible experiments for interface ideas, then use the prompt and style controls to explore a direction of your own.
When to open it
Open the homepage when you want a quick visual prompt for new product-interface directions or a varied set of small examples to browse. Scroll the live tiles and inspect their controls before writing a prompt. The Surprise me action routes to sign-in with a suggested prompt; it does not show a generated result without an account.
Most useful
- The homepage shows a grid of embedded prototypes rather than a static gallery card. Examples observed during review included a bike-battery status panel with range and charge controls, a weather panel over a Golden Gate Bridge image, and a movie-rating interface with selectable film posters (live examples).
- The Bike Battery tile uses segmented cyan charge bars, a large percentage, a remaining-range figure, and two compact status cards. The movie-rating tile presents film art as a selection surface with a separate rating action.
- The page offers a prompt field, image attachment, style selection, and a Surprise me route. Accessing Surprise me moved to account sign-in with the prompt prefilled in the URL; pricing also redirected to sign-in when opened directly.
Using it with agents
