What it is
The Brand Identity is an editorial archive of graphic and brand design projects, interviews and resources. Project pages pair visual examples with the designers and typefaces involved, and apply searchable tags for use, colour, material, aesthetic and typographic genre. The store is separate from the free-to-read project archive and sells licensed mockups, templates and guides.
When to open it
Open it to study how a visual identity carries through multiple applications, from a wordmark and packaging to digital pages, photography and motion. It is particularly useful when you want a case with both the imagery and enough design detail to understand the system's constraints.
Most useful
- Identity projects: start with the Identity tag, then add filters such as Digital, Motion, Bottle, Black, Geometric, Minimalist or Monospace.
- Oro identity case study: look at the contrast between custom rounded-rectangle lettering and monospace specification data, the restricted black/graphite/white palette, and the bottle's label-free glass treatment. The page also names the type families and studios.
- Motion projects: browse projects where movement is part of the identity presentation.
Using it with agents
No public MCP, API, CLI, llms.txt or other agent channel appeared in the reviewed pages. Share a project URL and describe the system-level decision to study, such as how one type scale carries from packaging to interface. Treat its images as references; the terms reserve reuse rights to the site or the credited owner.
Watch out for
- The case studies often feature commissioned identity work, and their images belong to The Brand Identity or the credited third parties. Viewing a project does not grant asset or font rights.
- Store files have separate licence conditions. Read the licence for a specific product before using it.
- Some project pages begin with video or moving media; if it does not load, the written breakdown and remaining images still provide context.
Reusable ideas
- Tag case studies by the design attributes visible in the work, so a search can start from material, colour or type as well as industry.
- Attribute the studio, client, typefaces and other contributors within the project page.
- Explain how a system's constraints—such as one palette or a strict type scale—shape the applications that follow.
