What it is
Snapzy is a free macOS app for screenshots, screen recordings, annotation, OCR and video editing. Its product site is useful as a visual example because it presents capture and post-capture workflows with real interface previews rather than relying only on feature claims.
When to open it
Open the homepage when designing a product page for a creator tool, or when planning a flow that moves from capture into annotation, editing and retrieval. The site is a product presentation, not a gallery of unrelated interfaces.
Most useful
- Homepage: inspect the feature carousel and app previews for onboarding, quick access, annotation, video editing and capture history.
- Feature and shortcut guide: find the capture modes and keyboard shortcuts described by the interface.
- After Capture guide: follow the documented handoff from a new capture to copy, save or edit actions.
Using it with agents
The site links to a structured documentation section and the public source repository, but no MCP, API, CLI or dedicated agent instructions were linked from the pages reviewed. Use the direct feature URLs as reading references; the app's BSD 3-Clause source licence does not grant reuse rights to the website's screenshots or branding.
Watch out for
The homepage's feature carousel and screenshots are vendor demonstrations, not independent design examples. Terms describe the site's UI, documentation and branding as Snapzy property. The footer and repository identify BSD 3-Clause, while the Terms of Service name MIT for the source code; check the repository licence before relying on the terms' conflicting statement.
Reusable ideas
- Give each workflow preview one named job, such as onboarding, quick access or local history, so visitors can scan the product by task.
- Show capture and editing controls beside the resulting image or recording, making the relationship between action and output legible.
- Use a left-aligned, oversized hero statement with a short action row and quieter platform details, then let the workflow carousel carry the denser feature explanation below.
- Keep language selection close to the product pitch and present supported languages as an explicit set rather than burying localization in legal or help pages.
