What it is
make.design is a small AI tool from solo maker Siddharth Meena that turns a one-line prompt into a finished-looking visual: a landing page, website section, app screen, dashboard, poster, social post or ad. You refine the result in chat ("add trust badges under the headline", "switch to a dark theme") or on its canvas, and can feed it your logo, colours, tone and assets to keep it on-brand. Pricing is counted in images per month and renders, so the output is a design to hand off rather than working code.
When to open it
Open it early in a project to get several visual directions for a landing page or campaign in minutes, before anyone opens Figma or writes code. It fits founders and marketers who need mockups, and developers who want a quick reference image to hand to a coding agent.
Most useful
- Showcase gallery: public prompt-generated examples split into web design, app design, marketing and graphic design, useful as quick inspiration for heroes, footers, dashboards and portfolio pages
- Chat edits on a generated design, including turning one idea into matching marketing assets
- Brand inputs (logo, colours, tone, assets) applied across generations
- Format range: one prompt can target a website, ad, social post or print-style graphic
Using it with agents
There is no MCP server, API, CLI or llms.txt (the path returned 404 at review), so agents cannot drive it directly. The practical route is to generate a design, export the image and give it to a coding agent as a visual reference, or to a screenshot-to-code tool. The site says designs are export-ready for developers, but it does not document a code export.
Watch out for
- There is no permanent free tier on the pricing page, only trials. The terms still mention free plans and bar multiple free accounts
- Output is a picture of a design. Someone still has to rebuild it as accessible, responsive code
- The terms give no company name, address or governing law beyond "the jurisdiction in which make.design operates", and total liability is capped at 12 months of fees or $50
- Plan credits reset each billing cycle and don't roll over, and fees are non-refundable
- Much of the site is SEO landing pages (tool pages, comparisons, "best AI tools"), so read the showcase and pricing rather than the marketing copy
Reusable ideas
- Show every gallery example next to the one-line prompt that produced it, so readers learn what to ask for
- Offer brand inputs (logo, colours, tone) as separate controls rather than asking users to describe them in the prompt
- Price by generation and by edit separately, so iteration costs less than starting over
