What it is
Detail sells an automated bug-finding and repair service for software teams. Its home page uses an unusually graphic black-and-white hero, with a sharp rising edge, a thin red marker and a field of red bars leading into customer evidence. The hero also exposes a canvas labelled “Shave Sort Visualization.”
When to open it
Open the home page when a developer-tool launch page needs a strong chart-like visual without putting a fabricated product dashboard at the centre. It is one live site's design, not a reusable library.
Most useful
- Read the black field, white diagonal and red bars as one directional graphic: the eye moves from the headline towards the proof below it.
- The short hero copy and two contrasting calls to action keep the message ahead of the custom illustration.
- The open-source examples show how repository names, scan results and fixed-bug counts can serve as product proof. Pricing lists a free first scan and a Team plan at $30 per committer per month at review.
Using it with agents
The home page links to Detail's documentation, but no MCP, CLI, public agent skill or root llms.txt was confirmed during this review. Use the live page as a visual reference; any agent access to the service itself requires an account.
Watch out for
- The chart graphic is specific to software testing. Borrow its directional composition only when it supports the story you are telling.
- The canvas is labelled in the page's accessibility tree, but its motion and reduced-motion behaviour were not fully evaluated here.
- Terms say customers retain ownership of code and generated fixes. That does not grant a licence to reuse Detail's marketing visuals.
Reusable ideas
- Let a geometric boundary divide the hero and continue it into a related data graphic below, so the visual tells one story across sections.
- Put concrete evidence near a broad product promise, and keep each proof item short enough to scan.
