What it is
AppShot Gallery is a gallery of App Store/Play Store listing screenshots: it shows how real apps present their store screenshots, icons and copy, built for anyone designing their own app's store page.
When to open it
- When you have to design your app's store screenshots and want real examples filtered by genre (fintech, health, productivity, social, etc.).
- When you're looking for a specific visual style for your screenshots (2D, 3D, flat, minimalist, brutalist, cartoon, pixel art, hand-drawn, watercolor, dark mode).
- When you need to calibrate store-copy tone (professional, friendly, creative, casual, serious) against real references.
Most useful
- Cross filters by visual style, tone of voice, genre/category (business, games, finance, health & fitness, productivity, social networking, travel, entertainment and 15+ more categories), color palette and font style (sans-serif, serif, handwritten).
- Each card shows real screenshots, rating, developer name, free-or-paid status, genre and a direct store link.
- A dedicated App Icons section, kept separate from full listing screenshots.
- A "Preview" feature (marked new) for reviewing an app's full listing.
- Lets you submit your own app to the gallery.
Using it with agents
No export or MCP; it's used with agents visually: describe the style, tone and layout of a reference listing to the agent (e.g. "flat-style screenshots with a blue palette, professional tone, for a fintech app") so it generates assets or copy along those lines.
Watch out for
- Mixes organic listings with sponsored placements; worth distinguishing which are genuinely highlighted for quality vs. paid placement.
- Screenshots belong to real apps with their own branding: use them for composition/style reference, not to copy assets or copy verbatim.
- No licence is stated for how the displayed screenshots may be used.
Reusable ideas
- Splitting the icon gallery from the full-listing screenshot gallery lets you search each asset type separately depending on the stage of work.
- Filtering by "tone of voice" in addition to visual style is unusual and useful for aligning copy and design on a store listing.
- Showing rating and price alongside each screenshot gives business context, not just aesthetic context, to the reference.
